A group of criminals camouflages a vital microchip in a remote-controlled toy car. When their luggage is accidentally taken by a passenger, the criminals search until they discover the woman’s home.
The passenger, Mrs. Hess, rewards her young neighbor Alex with the toy car, not realizing the danger she is placing on the boy. Smart and inquisitive, Alex notices odd strangers who keep appearing in his neighborhood, and soon finds that they want his toy car.
Alex devises many clever ways to defend himself against the criminals, sparing them no pain or humiliation, and eventually saves the day with the help of his pets.
