Warning: This film may be difficult for survivors of sexual assault.
Teeth tells the story of Dawn O'Keefe (Jess Weixler), a high school student who has taken a vow of chastity until her wedding vows. She regularly speaks at abstinence meetings held at her church.
Dawn’s mother (Vivienne Benesch) has cancer and is cared for by Bill, Dawn's stepfather (Lenny Von Dohlen). Brad (John Hensley), her stepbrother, is Dawn's polar opposite. He spends most of his time in his room, indulging in drugs and having sex with a woman, Melanie (Nicole Swahn), who is unfortunate enough to be in love with him.
While attending an abstinence meeting, Dawn meets a boy named Tobey (Hale Appleman). She feels an instant connection. Over time, her feelings become so strong that Dawn feels she can't see him anymore because she's afraid she'll break her vows.
An upsetting encounter with her stepbrother leads Dawn to impulsively meet Ryan at a secluded pond, where she hopes to swim to ease her mind. When she and Tobey enter an adjacent cave, a kiss leads to rape, and an unconscious Dawn’s body defends itself.
Dawn is traumatized and changed by the event. She doesn't understand what is wrong with her and worries that Tobey has died. She learns of Vagina Dentata myths and visits an Ob-Gyn, only to have her Doctor take advantage of her inexperience.
Dawn’s life continues to unravel with her mother’s death, misplaced trust in another young man, which again leads to assault and death. A changed person due to her trauma, Dawn decides to use her body as a weapon as a form of revenge and to defend herself.

Trailers and Film Scenes
The trailer does Mr. Von Dohlen's character, Dawn's step-father, a disservice by portraying him as one who experiences her wraith. The scene depicting his horror and fall to the ground is tied to his son's attack. Bill is the only good man in Dawn's life.
There are clips from the film on YouTube, but the scenes they selected to upload are in poor taste in that they contain SA and other subject matter that I find difficult to watch. I will leave them to the discretion of fans to discover on their own.
